Vodafone, We, Etisalat, or Orange Mobile Packages?

Vodafone, We, Etisalat, or Orange Mobile Packages?

Which Telecom company do you use its package?

“ How long does the 100LE card last you?” this question we’ve heard over and over during the last month after the Company's internet failed due to “maintenance issues”. We all immediately switched to mobile hotspots and then it dawned on us, which operator provides the best value?

As usual, we gathered four victims, I mean volunteers each with a different mobile operator.  We asked each of them to charge for 100LE and sat quietly and observed what they got.

WE Vs Etisalat Vs Vodafone Vs Orange

When we first started the exercise we found it very confusing, the naming of each company in addition to not all having a basic 100LE package got us initially confused, especially since the value was interchangeable between minutes, SMS, and MBS (that's not even taking into account what you're using the megabytes for).

Charging for 100LE gives you the following:

  • Orange: Control Plus 70
  • Vodafone:Flex Family 100
  • Etisalat:Demagh Tanya
  • WE:Tazbeet 65

So who's cheaper?

Orange:

  • Package cost: 70LE
  • Minute cost to the same network:2 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:1 piaster

Vodafone:

  • Package cost: 100LE
  • Minute cost to the same network:2 piasters
  • Minute cost to other networks: 10 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:Less than 1 piaster

Etisalat:

  • Package cost: 100LE

Program 1 (8,000 Megabytes & 400 units)

  • Minute cost to the same network:25 piasters
  • Minute cost to other networks: 90 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:1 piaster

Program 2 (7,000 Megabytes & 500 units)

  • Minute cost to the same network:20 piasters
  • Minute cost to other networks: 80 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:1 piaster

Program 3 (3,000 Megabytes & 2,000 units)

  • Minute cost to the same network:5 piasters
  • Minute cost to other networks: 25 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:3 piasters

WE:

  • Package cost: 95 LE
  • Minute cost to the same network:8 piasters
  • Minute cost to other networks: 40 piasters
  • Megabyte cost:0.25 piaster

All 100 packages are customed to complete a month.

Based on some simple math here’s our conclusion:

  • Etisalat offers the best program (demagh tanya) as you can adjust to your individual needs.
  • If you talk more than browse then Vodafone and Orange might be better options
  • If you’re a heavy browser then WE is your choice
