Compare between the top 3 Banking cards in Egypt

Visa and Mastercard are both companies whose primary objectives are to facilitate your payments or money withdrawals, through your bank or any other bank. In short, they are mediators, who gather information on bank balances throughout the world and make it easier for you to use your card anywhere you go.

Founded in May 2019, Meeza is the first local prepaid card. In other words, it is the first 100% Egyptian electronic payment method, in which you will find a variety of Egyptian banking options at a nominal price. In addition, you can easily recharge it at the bank where you opened your account or through its respective ATM machine.

Now that you know a little bit about each one, the question is, which one is the best one for you?

There are very minor differences between Visa and Mastercard which may not even be apparent. They are so similar that generally speaking, everyone treats them alike and when compared with Meeza, we find even more similarities between all three.

Meeza card accepts local and international transfers, unlike Visa and Mastercard.

  • Each has a 3-year validity
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to apply for them
  • You do not need to have a bank account to issue any of the cards
  • You can use all three cards in your electronic transactions

On the other hand, there are also clear differences between them:

  • Meeza card accepts local and international transfers, unlike Visa and Mastercard.
  • The service fees for all three cards are the same, however, Meeza is the only one whose fees will be transferred in Egyptian pounds, unlike Visa and Mastercard, whose fees are transferred in US dollars.  Therefore, with Meeza, no foreign currency will go outside of Egypt.
  • Visa and Mastercard can be used abroad, whereas Meeza can only be used in Egypt.
