Mo Salah: Contract Renewal and Salary

Salah’s payout is huge but not as big as he originally demanded

For a while now the big question for football fans was whether Mohamed Salah will renew his contract with Liverpool or not. Luckily for us British newspaper The Mirror shed some light on the topic.

The Mirror stated that Salah will renew his contract with Liverpool and even exposed the contract’s worth after the Egyptian Pharaoh agreed to lower his original financial demands. Mo Salah declared that he is happy to play for Liverpool under coach Jurgen Klopp’s leadership.

Mohamed Salah’s Renewal with the Reds:

Even though Salah’s contract isn’t as big as he originally requested, it is however much more than what his Liverpool coplayer Virgil van Dijk currently receives (220,000 Pounds Sterling) making Mo Salah the highest paid Liverpool player on the roster.

According to the Mirror, Salah will be paid 400,000 Pounds Sterling per week. This number was originally declined by Mo Salah as he stated that he should be properly compensated as one of the top players in the world. Salah had requested 500,000 Pounds Sterling.

The Mirror also stated that Salah’s contract has been extended till 2026 even though he was willing to extend it to 2027 but after some deliberations the Liverpool board decided on the earlier date instead. This is in addition to Salah’s remaining time on his current contract which ends in 2023.
