The zoo is one of the most beloved outings for Egyptians. Most of us have already been there at least once before.

The zoo has been a hot topic on social media platforms lately because of the increase of the ticket price. We’re here to separate fact from fiction for you.

 

2022 Ticket Prices

 

  • The Giza Zoo has announced that the price of tickets has changed as follows:
  • The price of tickets on Tuesdays (previously the Zoo’s only day off which was used to do regular maintenance work) has increased to 65 EGP.
  • Ticket prices the rest of the week remains the same at 5 EGP for Egyptians and 20 EGP for foreigners.
  • Entrance to the zoo on Tuesdays is restricted to the main gate only.
  • The rest of the week the zoo may be accessed from any entrance.
  • Children 5 years and up pay full ticket price.

New exhibits

 

The zoo has added several exhibits lately and development plans are still ongoing.

 

Tourist groups are allowed entrance on Tuesdays with previous reservation.

 

Here are the entrance fees of some of Egypt’s best parks/gardens:

 

  • Orman Botanical Garden: 2 EGP all week for individuals, and 20 EGP for cars (including the passengers).
  • Aquarium Grotto Garden (a.k.a. fish garden): 5 EGP all week for Egyptians and 20 EGP for foreigners.
  • Al-Azhar Park: weekdays 20 EGP on weekdays. Weekends and official holidays 25 EGP. 
  • Family Park: weekdays 60 EGP. Weekends 70 EGP.
  • The International Garden: 10 EGP.
  • Fustat Garden: 3-5 EGP.
  • Merryland Park: weekdays 20 EGP. Weekends 30 EGP.
