How is the Central Business District planned?

  1. The New Administrative Capital will be built on 170,000 acres -around 714 km2. That’s the size of Singapore and almost 4 times the size of Washington D.C.
  2. The New Administrative Capital is located between the Greater Cairo region and the Suez Canal, near the Regional Ring Road and the Cairo-Suez Road.
  3. Diverse educational services including public and private schools such Manor House International School and the British International School, as well as Liverpool University, Universities of Canada, and the American International University.


Major Projects in the New Administrative Capital

 

  1. The Green River: one of the most noteworthy projects in the New Administrative Capital. Described as the “longest chain of gardens in the world”, the green river is a 1000 acres park crossing the middle of the city and is 10 km2 long.
  2. Al Fattah-Al-Aleem Mosque: one of the largest mosques in the Arab world and the Middle East. The mosque is built over 250,000 m2 and can accommodate 17000 worshippers. 
  3. Al Salam – Administrative Capital – 10th of Ramadan Electric Train project: it is planned to be 103 km long and connected to the 3rd metro phase at Adly Mansour-Cairo University station, and connected to the New Administrative Capital Monorail at Capital Station 2. The electric train will also be connected to the new Ain-Sokhna – Alamein City Electric high speed passenger train.
  4. Egypt’s Capitals Museum: the museum will showcase the history of Egypt’s capitals through the ages. The museum will exhibit more than 1000 artifacts.
  5. Four major construction companies are jointly building the residential and governmental sectors in the New Administrative Capital, they are: Talaat Moustafa Group, Hassan Allam Sons, Concord for Engineering & Construction, and Orascom Alliance.
  6. Solar farm/park: 11.5km2.

 

Main roads: 650 km.

 

Tiba City: 2.26 km2.

 

Opera House: can accommodate 3300 spectators in 3 inner halls and an outdoor theatre.

 

The business district will include the Central Bank and a money printing facility.

 

The New Business District

 

  1. Location: between the Mohamed Ben Zayed Northern & Southern axis.
  2. Area: 1,700,000 square meters with total investment of $3.4 billion.
  3. Developer: CSCEC is building the entire district and they are also the financial backers and executors.
  4. The district will include several services and multipurpose (commercial, entertainment, residential) units, as well as several towers, banks, and financial offices.
  5. It will boast the tallest skyscraper in Africa.
  6. The district will contain the new headquarters of the Central bank of Egypt, a money printing facility, 12 commercial complexes, 5 residential buildings, and 2 hotels.
